The Department has called on the liquor industry and community to assist in creating awareness of the dangers of alcohol abuse and consuming alcohol while pregnant. This was the message at the Sobriety Awareness Day that was held in Klipgat in Bojanala District Municipality, wherein various stakeholders such as the South African National Council on Alcoholism (SANCA) SANParks Rehab Center, Department of Trade Industry and Competition (DTIC) encouraged liquor traders and retailers to be part of the solution in the reduction of alcohol abuse and its harms to society.
